Bulk, a new challenge for Le Petit Marseillais
30 years after democratizing the “berlingot” refill, France’s favorite beauty brand in supermarkets (source: Kantar 2021) has created a unit equipped with five reservoirs that allows you to refill your shower gel bottle yourself. This eco-designed innovation limits the consumption of plastic: you can reuse your empty bottle to refill it directly in the store. The bottles of Le Petit Marseillais Extra Doux shower gels, already 100% recyclable, can now be refilled in bulk.
Chanel finally switches to eco-design!
Chanel’s N°1 line consists of nine products (from powder cleanser to serum, refillable cream, makeup and fragrant water), all made from red camellia (the House’s emblematic flower), grown in the Landes region of France (with a level 3 High Environmental Value certification, the highest, and labeled in “organic farming conversion”).
Focus on French Launches
Their grains are imperceptible or very comfortable, not the kind to scratch the scalp (which could overexcite the sebaceous glands), their purpose is rather to stimulate microcirculation, bring a bonus of purification and detoxification. They rid the scalp and hair of pollution particles, excess sebum and dead cells. All this with vegan formulas containing at least 90% of ingredients of natural origin with responsible sourcing and eco-designed packaging.

Solid makeup remover/facial cleanser
Supermarkets are betting on them for a greener bathroom Witness the latest launches of Nivea Naturally Clean and Briochin, after Garnier SkinActive in 2020 (PureActive Anti-Imperfection Charcoal Solid Cleanser, 100 g, €4.90). Nivea is launching four “facial solids” at once, two cleansers, two scrubs, formulated with 99% ingredients of natural origin and, for the first time for the brand, all certified Ecocert® Cosmos Natural, with packaging made of FSC-certified recycled cardboard.
Vegetable nails are becoming more and more common!
Kure Bazaar (Bio-sourced Nail Polish, 10 ml, €16, 100 shades), Clever Beauty and its famous anti-gaspi bottle with a “whirlwind of whipped cream” cap (Colored Nail Polish, 10.5 ml, €17.90, 11 shades) or Manucurist (Green Nail Polish, 15 ml, €14, 30 shades), composed of up to 90% bio-sourced ingredients, had opened the way.
The pear note in perfumery
Apart from citrus, it is one of the few fruits that brings a joyful and refined freshness to fragrances (neither girly nor mainstream, unlike many other fruits with syrupy accents). Its fruity scent is always synthetically reconstituted (notably with hexyl acetate). It’s so fresh that Guerlain dedicated an Aqua Allegoria to it in 2016: Pera Granita (eau de toilette 75 ml, €78), a pear granita scented with bergamot.
Tanning products are putting up a fight!
Tinted mousse is the big winner This summer, it can be found in all the specialist brands, such as St.Tropez, Vita Liberata, Bronz’Express, He-Shi or, the latest, Isle of Paradise. The foam dries quickly, is easy to spread, is a playful galenic ideal when you are new to self-tanning and when it is tinted (which is the case for most of them), you can immediately see which areas of the body have been forgotten.
When cryo takes over facials
As we know, the virtues of cold are numerous. Firming, it activates the blood microcirculation, lightens the legs, deflates the eyes and tightens the pores. But until now, its properties were mainly used in body care, not much in face care. At the most, they were used in eye contour care (Beauté du Regard Cryo-Booster Cream by Galénic, 15 ml, €45).
Three intensities of mint for the same toothpaste
Very creative, Lebon toothpastes (the company is established in Belgium but manufacturing is 100% French), after offering luxurious toothpastes with original flavors such as orange blossom, rose or pineapple (Flavorcare Collection), return to the essentials with their new Essentials range certified organic whose originality is to be declined in three intensities of mint: sweet mint or spearmint (Mentha Viridis), close to Moroccan mint tea, strong mint (Mentha Arvensis or field mint) with an...
