Lorelei Linklater’s Biography
Born in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and raised in Austin, Texas, Lorelei Linklater is a prolific American artist who has created hundreds of thought-provoking paintings and mixed-media pieces. A significant accomplishment is the graphic novel “Weird Time,” which has been made available online at http://weird-time.tumblr.com. Lorelei Linklater is also a longtime actress who initially appeared in a minor role in the 1999 film "Waking Life." One of her spoken lines from the film ultimately found its way into the song "Botanical Dimensions" by the English psychedelic band Shpongle.
In 2002, Ms. Linklater began a long-term acting project in "Boyhood," a movie directed by her father Richard Linklater. Released in 2014 and co-starring Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette, and Ellar Coltrane, the award-winning drama was filmed over a 12-year period and portrays the ongoing struggles of a divorced couple raising a boy. Lorelei Linklater volunteers at the East Bay Depot for Creative Re-Use in Oakland, CA, near her home in the San Francisco Bay Area.
