Towards the design of contrast-enhanced agents: systematic Ga3+ doping on magnetite nanoparticles
Towards the design of contrast-enhanced agents: systematic Ga3+ doping on magnetite nanoparticles Itziar Galarreta, Lourdes Marcano, Idoia Rubio-Castellanos, Izaskun Gil de Muro, Isabel García, Luca Olivi, Maria Luisa Fernandez-Gubieda, Ainara Castellanos-Rubio, Luis Lezama, Idoia Ruiz de Larramendi and Maite Insausti Abstract The main objective of the preparation of the system Fe3-xGaxO4 (0.14 x 1.35) is to further the knowledge of the magnetic response of Ga3+ doped magnetite for the...
Controlled Magnetic Anisotropy in Single Domain Mn-doped Biosynthesized Nanoparticles
Introduction Magnetotactic bacteria are a group of aquatic microorganisms widespread in freshwater and marine environments that can passively align in the presence of magnetic fields while they actively swim. This fascinating behavior is due to the presence of intracellular membrane-enclosed single domain magnetic nanoparticles, called magnetosomes, arranged in chains.(1−4) Magnetosomes present a species-specific morphology and size, and a precise mineral composition, in most cases magnetite.
Mn-Doping Level Dependence on the Magnetic Response of MnxFe3-xO4 Ferrite Nanoparticles
Mn-Doping Level Dependence on the Magnetic Response of MnxFe3-xO4 Ferrite Nanoparticles Xabier Lasheras, Maite Insausti, Jesus Martinez de la Fuente, Izaskun Gil de Muro, Idoia Rubio-Castellanos, Lourdes Marcano, Maria Luisa Fernandez-Gubieda, Aida Serrano, Rosa Martín Rodríguez, Eneko Garaio, José Ángel García and Luis Lezama Abstract Manganese/iron ferrite nanoparticles with different Mn2+/3+ doping grades have been prepared by a thermal decomposition optimized approach so as to ascertain...
