Small sub for office music system.
Hello everyone! I've been itching to have a sound system in my office (I work from home and the little JBL Bluetooth speaker was getting old) so I found some audio components I was not using and put a small system together. Speakers are a pair of Totem Rainmakers I've had for 20 or so years. Had them in my living room for mains for a bit then rears and they never sounded that good as that room was much to large. For a source, I'm using an older Marantz SR5013.
Subwoofer enclosures for 18" drivers (DIYSG, Marty Cube etc) in Canada
Anyone selling flatpacks for a 20(ish)hz tuned 18" driver cabinet in Canada ? I'd grab something from GSG Audio but I have a feeling the shipping will be $1000. Can be assembled or not. (note, ignore the post location, the website doesnt seem to allow Canadian cities. I'm in Northern Alberta.)
Maybe settled...I don't know....
I love my surround system. Denon X3300 for processing. Music Fidelity M3si for stereo music/front speakers on surround. KEF floor standers for fronts. Gallo back spheres/rear. Maybe it's upgraditis , I don't know. Considering how sonic perception decreases with age...any improvements I can make? I was just reading about The NAD C 700 V2 represents a new kind of high-end audio system that is luxurious and smart, but very discreet.
CSO's full room treatment steps with individual REW measurements. UPDATED
Hey everyone. UPDATED with ceiling panels (measurements were taken without these ceiling panels. check comment #38 to see what I think of these) I would say I am finished with my room treatment as of now. I had to take it into a consideration that this is first and foremost a living room and make sure that wife accepts all these new things. She wanted no rug... she didn't want new thicker picture frames, but luckily she wasn't pushing back too hard.
I'm lost! Need covered patio speaker advice please
I'm looking to add some speakers and TV to a covered patio that is nearly finished being framed. I marked on the pictures with a red x where I'm thinking speakers might go and also where the TV will go. Is this a good setup? There will be a seating area in front of the TV and a dining area in the other half of the covered patio. Since I don't know anything about what to buy, or how the speakers will be set up... will they all be in mono since the patio is 30 ft wide?
My LG B4 was delivered broken but I didn't know because I didn't inspect it upon delivery
This is just an FYI to anyone thinking of buying an LG TV. I purchased an 83" LG B4 OLED TV in late April of this year for our pool/back patio area that we have been working on for some time. The box was received by the shipping company and looked to be in good order and the delivery team placed it in my bedroom, where it stayed untouched, while the pool/back patio was being finished for 2 months.
Please help my speakers won't fit in the ceiling
Hello all, I'm in a bit of a situation. I purchased the paradigm ci-home H65-A v2s for my living room. It's a brand new home and I had the builder's contractor to pre wire 7.1 the problem is that I need 10 3/8 inches of clearance to mount the speakers but in some areas where I need the speakers to be placed, I only have a clearance of 9 inches. I spoke with the construction supervisor before moving in and he told me that the joists are 16 inches apart.
How to enjoy theater with newborn?
#2 · Not sure of the exact question here, but here are a couple of things: 1) If newborn is in the room, be careful of volume levels to protect their hearing. 2) Other than that, my experience is that it doesn’t matter. Three kids here and I both have the home theater and play the tuba in the house. My experience has been that for nearly the first year, they’re gonna sleep when they sleep and be awake when they’re awake.
From 5.1.2 to 7.1.4. Speaker placement?
I have the following 5.1.2 speaker setup: Klipsch R-100SW Sub Klipsch R-820F Front Klipsch RP-404C II Center Klipsch R-51M Back Klipsch R-41SA Front Atmos …and have bought these for 7.1.4 upgrade: Klipsch RP-240S Surround Klipsch R-40SA Back Atmos I guess the R-40SA should be placed in the top corners of the back wall. But where should I put the RP-240S? On the back wall as back between the R-51M as surround, or on the side walls in front of the couch as surround?
Planning DIY Subs (HT-18s vs PA460s vs UM18-22s, 4 possible locations, budget)
I have 4 locations I can add more subs, so I shall! I do have a Monolith M-215 that I'll be keeping and taking up the 5th space, for now. It'll likely go away at some point with more DIY coming in, but the theater's gotta be operational until I have more subs The goal is just to get my theater more ULF, mid-bass, and smiles overall.
