His prolific scoring was always going to be missed by the Toffees when he inevitably joined a bigger club.
Everton’s Nikola Vlasic Prepared for Real Madrid
Everton’s Nikola Vlasic prepared for Real Madrid by starring in CSKA Moscow’s win at Orenburg. Apparently surplus to requirements at Goodison Park, the Croatian midfielder featured in their 1-0 win in the Russian Premier League. He will no doubt be part of the side that meets the Champions League title holders at the Luzniki Stadium on 2nd October. Facing a team based out near the Kazakhstan border, CSKA were often tested.
Marco Silva’s Defence: Is There One?
Hull City, Watford and Everton. Marco Silva is seen by some as a young manager with great potential. But where is Marco Silva’s defence? He joined Hull when they were doomed, started well at Watford and was courted by Everton who finally got their man after the departure of Sam Allardyce from Goodison Park. Silva likes to play attacking football but there is one question mark over his teams that must be a cause for concern. His teams, certainly in the Premier League, have leaked goals.
Theo Walcott Return to Arsenal is a Reminder of What Might Have Been
Theo Walcott has already returned to Arsenal once this year, having played in Everton’s 5-1 thrashing by the Gunners in February, which came barely a fortnight after he had finally left The Emirates for Merseyside. Nevertheless, it will still be fascinating to see how he performs on Sunday when he will again line up against his old club. Can he finally show Arsenal that they lost something by selling him?

Everton’s New Signings Could Help Club Back to Europe
For English clubs, the transfer window is closed and the season has begun. The Premier League kicked off this past weekend, and Everton fought their way to a 2-2 draw away to newly promoted Wolves. On its own, a draw on the road to open the season is a solid result. When you factor in the fact that the Toffees were down a man for 50 minutes, things look even better. Plus, one of Everton’s new signings bagged a brace.
Wolves Earn Draw Against Ten Man Everton
Wolves and Everton played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Molineux. Despite having the majority of possession Wolves couldn’t make the pressure count against the ten men of Everton. With Wolves only fielding two players who have previous top-flight football experience in England, they had to show heart in their first Premier League game for six years, having to come from behind twice to secure a draw against a strong counter-attacking team. Both sides will be happy with a point to start the season.
Preview: Wolves v Everton
Wolves host Everton at Molineux on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. Nuno’s side will face a strong test in their first top-flight game for six years. Everton have a new head coach to begin the season in Marco Silva as he looks to push Everton into European football contention. The new faces at Wolves will be looking to secure Premier League survival first of all.
Yerry Mina Completes Move to Everton
Despite a highly successful World Cup for the Colombian centre-back, where he scored three goals in four games and was the top scorer for his country, Yerry Mina’s place in the Barcelona squad was never assured. After a month-long transfer saga, Yerry Mina has finally left the Catalan giants to move to Everton for £30.25 million. The 6’3″ defender has an impressive six goals in 15 games for his national team, a statistic that would be the envy of many strikers.
Bernard Signs for Everton
Bernard has signed for Everton after being released from Shakhtar Donetsk. The Brazilian attacking midfielder is a massive coup for the club. Since 2012, Bernard has made 14 appearances for his nation. He was utilised most under Scolari. He even participated in the 2014 Rio World Cup. However, he was also part of that infamous 7-1 defeat to Germany. Since then he has struggled to get back into the team. Nevertheless, he is a player with international experience with proven quality.
2018/19 Everton Season Preview
Everton started this pre-season in outstanding form. Their opening friendly against ATV Irdning resulted in an extraordinary 22-0 victory for the Toffees. Results since then haven’t impressed nearly as much, drawing 1-1 with Bury and going down 3-0 to Blackburn. However, newly appointed Portuguese manager Marco Silva will be looking to finally help Everton break into the top six and regain themselves a spot in European competitions.
Davy Klaassen Ends Everton Nightmare by Joining Werder Bremen
Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen has moved away from the Premier League after just one season, completing a move from Everton to Werder Bremen for an undisclosed fee. Klaassen joined the Toffees only last summer for a fee of £23.6 million and big things were expected of the former Ajax captain. He had captained the Dutch champions to the Europa League final in the 2016/17 season, where they lost to Manchester United.
Marco Silva Named As Long-Term Everton Boss
Marco Silva has been named as the new long-term manager of Everton. Everton see the Portuguese man’s position as a long-term one. Everton owner Farhad Moshiri intends on having the former Watford boss at the club for at least five years. This will coincide with Everton’s proposed plan to move to a new stadium. Everton have a history with Silva as he was chosen to replace Ronald Koeman in October. However, Watford accused the Toffees of tapping up their then boss.
Farhad Moshiri Must Continue This Summer the Way He’s Started It
Farhad Moshiri has likely endured plenty of busy weeks in his time but this past one at Goodison Park will have been right up there. Everton have not seen a change in the guard like this in quite some time. At boardroom level, there is a new Chief Executive, a new Deputy Chairman and a new Chief Finance and Commercial Officer. Sam Allardyce has also been removed. In truth, the writing has been on the wall for some time for Allardyce.
Sam Allardyce Sacked As Everton Manager
Sam Allardyce has been sacked as Everton manager after just six months in the job, the club have confirmed. The Englishman was appointed Toffees boss back in November, after they sacked Ronald Koeman following a woeful start to the season. Allardyce took the side, who surprisingly looked set to be caught in a relegation battle, all the way up to an impressive 8th placed finish. However, his style of play was lost on the fans, who as a result, did not take to him.
An Everton Relegation Dogfight Is A Real Possibility
In their last five games, Everton have only managed one win. Three losses and a draw complete the rest of the results, with the Toffees languishing two points above the relegation trap door. The club is not condemned to the drop with only a third of the season gone, but they will have to pick up results, starting with West Ham on Wednesday night. This fixture in itself is a relegation dogfight. The manager, or ‘lack of manager’, situation has not helped the club.
Football Transfer News: Ross Barkley Bound For Everton Exit?
According to various sources, including the Sports Mole, Everton manager Sam Allardyce is expecting interest for Ross Barkley this month. Interest in Ross Barkley has been rife since last summer. Both Chelsea and Spurs have expressed interest in the 24-year-old. The Toffees midfielder saw his move to Chelsea break down last summer due to injury which has continued to prevent him from featuring for Everton this season.
Ambition-less Sam Allardyce is the Architect of His Own Downfall at Everton
When the Premier League comes to an end this summer the list of managers out of work is likely to be a long one. Sam Allardyce will be among the names on it. Arriving at Everton at the end of November, his remit was to keep them in the Premier League. It is a job that he has completed with time to spare. Yet, despite that, his reign at Goodison Park has not been a harmonious one. Evertonians did not want Allardyce but begrudgingly accepted him as the man to help the club avoid a relegation battle.
Why aren’t Everton moving for Eddie Howe?
It is now nearly a month since Everton sacked Ronald Koeman. The Dutchman dreamt of managing Barcelona one day. Now though, he may be lucky to manage in the Premier League again after the awful end to his Merseyside tenure. However, the club is apparently no nearer to appointing his replacement. This is despite officials expressing a desire to have a new manager in place by the end of the international break. As is always the case with top-flight jobs, Everton have been linked with many managers.
Where Did It Go Wrong For Ronald Koeman At Everton?
Modern football is a harsh world, especially for managers. More often than not, there can be evidence to suggest why a manager given the chop should have been handed more time in his job. The word ‘patience’ is something that seems to be going out of fashion in a sport where results are the ultimate factor, above all, that decide a manager’s fate.
Everton Sack Manager Ronald Koeman
After a very poor start to the new season, Everton have made the ruthless decision to sack manager Ronald Koeman after he managed to earn just 8 points from their opening 9 games. After finishing 7th in the league and splashing plenty of cash last summer, the Toffees were getting ready for a strong season. However, they have experienced quite the opposite and haven’t been able to carry over the momentum of last season.
