Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

I wrote reviews of Boston thrift shops for a local blog. It was unpaid but also almost completely unedited, so that was a plus.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

J. Jonah Jameson or Tin Tin

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

updating Zotero counts as self-care now

Why did you become a journalist?

I obsessively collect information about things that interest me.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I was co-EIC with two other nerds who would make fun of writers' grammar instead of doing layouts

What's the best pitch you ever got?

A communications firm reached out about their new solution to a problem I had never heard of, but that affected all my areas of interest.
