Abstract Our research described in this paper aimed to improve the optical and radiation shielding performance of reduced graphene oxide/polyvinyl alcohol polymeric nanocomposites (rGO/PVA PNCs) through metal oxides (MOs: Al2O3, V2O5 and Ag2O) doping. Undoped and MOs doped rGO/PVA PNCs were prepared using a simple solution casting method. The impact of MOs on the surface morphology and structure for all samples were examined using optical microscopy and FT-IR spectroscopy techniques.
