Daily Diary, Day 950: More wildlife today, I was going into kitchen when I saw the little cutie below--appears a juvenile to me. Only started seeing squirrel after we hung up the bird feeder, but mostly they seem to be eating grass?
Weekly Writing Intentions: April 8, 2023
Daily Diary, Day 949: In review of last week, for those of you who have been following the day to day posts, you know I did not achieve my goal of getting back to an hour of walking. Instead, my over optimistic assessment of my healing meant that between doing regular cleaning and trying to walk for 30 minutes last weekend, I seem to have re-injured my back. So, I have had to go back to square one. So for this coming week, the watch-word is slow and steady.

Daily Diary, April 7, 2023 Day 948: I finished going through the last beta reader's comments, but I still need to do one more run through looking a couple of scenes, which I will do tomorrow. Otherwise the day was one of those that slipped away between Rio coming over for dog play date, an hour scheduled phone call, putting away groceries, doing som laundry, then right after lunch, a two and a half hour phone call catching with a friend.

Daily Diary, Day 947: I only have one more chapter to edit, and then tomorrow I am to get feedback from the last beta reader, so I should be able to do one more quick run-through and be done with this stage of editing. I told my husband that I was actually feeling pretty good about the book at this point.
April 5, 2023: A Year on Substack!
Daily Diary, Day 946: A year ago I started this substack newsletter, and a month later, my monthly promotional newsletter, and my, how time has flown. In this end-of-year review I can say that I am entirely satisfied with how both of these newsletters have succeeded in achieving the goals I had for creating them.

Daily Diary, April 4, 2023 Day 945: By the end of yesterday, I had gotten through 9 chapters, and today I got through 8, so I am well ahead of schedule. I woke up this morning after a good night's sleep, feeling the pain had abated a little bit, which was good because by yesterday evening I was feeling pretty uncomfortable.

Daily Diary, Day 944: I can tell that I am getting anxious to finish this edit as quickly as possible, because it isn't even lunch yet, and I've achieved my 6 chapters a day goal. I do have a phone call scheduled for this afternoon, but I should be able to get a few more chapters edited before then. Frankly, there is a positive benefit to getting through as many chapters a day as possible.

Daily Diary, Day 943: Going to be a very short post because I had an unexpected phone call a couple of hours ago when I started to write up my day, then a scheduled call, and now it is time for dinner. So here goes: I worked hard today, both doing the main weekly cleaning and editing. I cleaned in a couple of short 30 minute bursts, so probably not as good aerobically, but what my back seemed to tolerate. No walk, but it was over 70 minutes of exercise.
Weekly Writing Intentions: April 1, 2023
Daily Diary, Day 942: This will be very simple. First, I want to build my walking back up. Between the rain, and several months of infections and my reaction to the various antibiotics, I feel more out of shape than I have felt for a year, in the months after I broke my toe. I still have lower back pain, but I feel worse when I have been sitting too long, so I hope that very short, intermittent walks will help.

Daily Diary, Day 941: Last day of March, and it certainly is going out more like a lamb than the rest of the month. For now, we seem to be going rain free for awhile, with temperatures starting to go up. I just hope I can start walking again soon, before suddenly are facing hotter mornings.

Daily Diary, Day 940: Once again the main story line for today is the weather. Photos below were taken over about a 15 minute sequence, to the west big clouds, then a rainbow, but when I looked out the front of the house to the east, it was pouring. And my poor husband was out walking Leeza (said they even experience hail.) They were both soaked, but it was sunny by the time they made it home.

Daily Diary, March 29, 2023 Day 939: Weird sort of day, for a couple of reasons. One, the weather. Started to rain about 10, then stopped early afternoon, and now it is sunny, but supposed to start raining again tonight, and much of tomorrow.

Daily Diary, Day 938: Well, I had to spend about an hour this morning making sure FaceBook didn't cancel my account because of the 1882 newspaper article I included in yesterday's post, which "violated" community standards. Sigh. I would have been more sympathetic if I didn't see the posts a young person I know shares all the time on their FB page that are not some historical example of the misogynist attitudes of 150 years ago, but of misogyny today.

Daily Diary, Day 937: The solar panel people got here at 8, and they are still here, so there have been the sounds of pounding and drilling all day. They hoped to finish today, and definitely by tomorrow. Beautiful day for it. I spent the morning working on sales data for October (you can see how far behind I am with this.) This is putting together all the sales in ebook, print, audiobook for the month, at different retailers, by book. This permits me to corelate between promotions and sales.

Daily Diary, March 26, 2023 Day 936: Picture of sleepy Leeza below represents today, a pretty low-key Sunday. One very short phone call, a couple of hours of doing the major cleaning, including all the laundry in case the solar panel people who come tomorrow need to turn off the electricity for very long during the day. Also charging the EV, again, to be prepared for any eventuality.
Weekly Writing Intentions: March 25, 2023
Daily Diary, Day 935: After sending off my manuscript Wednesday to beta readers, I have been taking things slowly, because I can tell I’m tired, and also still fighting some infections. I have made some progress on the long to-do list of things that are part of the business-side of writing. I did read a new Diving Universe novel by Kris Rusch (early release because I supported a kickstarter campaign.) No walks because of antibiotics I’ve been on, although I hope to start walking again on Monday.

Daily Diary, Day 934: Another relatively quiet day. I did actually get a couple of hours reading in yesterday afternoon after all my meetings were over, and I hope to do the same this afternoon. Unfortunately, feeling under the weather, not quite sure why, except that perhaps the last round of antibiotics may have not done the trick, so waiting for call back from nurse. The weather itself is sunny and is supposed to remain so until Wednesday.

Daily Diary, Day 933: Today the big excitement has continued to be the weather. Last night, the clouds rolled in, first photo is from then, and you can see that one of the clouds over the ocean is probably spilling rain down. Then my poor husband got soaked in his second long walk. First dog walk of day, he had his waterproof jacket on, and did get some sprinkles. Then when he was back from that walk, it poured in our front yard, but barely a drop in the back yard.
