Myeloid Mineralocorticoid Receptor Transcriptionally Regulates P-Selectin Glycoprotein Ligand-1 and Promotes Monocyte Trafficking and Atherosclerosis
Highlights PSGL1 (P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1) is a novel MR (mineralocorticoid receptor) transcriptional target gene in monocytes. Myeloid MR contributes to leukocyte trafficking and trans-endothelial migration in male but not female mice in response to inflammatory stimuli. Myeloid MR deletion attenuates atherosclerotic plaque inflammation with fewer macrophages in male and female apolipoprotein E-null mice and fewer T cells specifically in males.

Endothelial mineralocorticoid receptor contributes to systolic dysfunction induced by pressure overload without modulating cardiac hypertrophy or inflammation
AbstractHeart Failure (HF) is associated with increased circulating levels of aldosterone and systemic inflammation. Mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonists block aldosterone action and decrease mortality in patients with congestive HF. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the therapeutic benefits of MR antagonists remain unclear.

When it looked as though he might be scraping his face on the asphalt of the Washington & Old Dominion Trail bike path, the officers moved him, while holding him down, so his face was on the grass.
