들어가며 4편까지는 주로 Layer 2 환경을 살펴봤다. Ethernet ↓ MAC Address ↓ Switch ↓ VLAN ↓ Trunk 하지만 Network가 커지면 같은 LAN 안에서만 통신할 수는 없다. 예를 들어 다음 두 Host가 있다고 해보자. PC A 192.168.1.10 PC B 192.168.1.20 A가 B에게 Data를 보내려면 먼저 한 가지를 판단해야 한다. B는 나와 같은 Network에 있는가, 아니면 다른 Network에 있는가? 같은 Network라면 B에게 직접 Frame을 전달하면 된다. 하지만 B가 다른 Network에 있다면 Router의 도움을 받아야 한다. 같은 Network → 상대 Host의 MAC Address 필요 → ARP → 직접 전달 다른 Network → Default Gateway의 MAC Address 필요 → Router에게 전달 이번 편에서는 이 판단이 어떻게 이루어지는지부터 시작해서 다음 흐름을 연결한다.
