What was your first job as a journalist?
I started my career covering fashion week and it's still one of my favorite things to write about.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No. But now that I'm thinking about it I'd kind of like to.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Carrie Bradshaw-for her shoe collection!
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I prefer to be pitched via email so I can keep everything organized.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
My paper planner is still my favorite tool for keeping organized.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, looking back, I wish I had!
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'm proud of some of the articles I've written about covering sustainability.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Just start writing. It will take some time to be good but the more you practice, the better you'll get.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime as long as it's via email.
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee. Without a doubt. I cannot function without coffee.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
One of the biggest misconceptions about covering fashion and beauty is that it's always glamorous.
