Saudi Arabia has adopted a new law governing public private partnerships (PPPs) (the Privatisation Law), which will enter into force 120 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. It follows a consultation process and the publication of a draft privatisation law in 2018 (the Draft Law), as well as the launch in 2017 of the National Centre for Privatisation & PPP (NCP) to enable privatisation and PPPs under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

A new set of regulations with respect to the taking and perfecting of security interests over movables was issued by Royal Decree number M/94 dated 15/4/1441H (the Royal Decree). The Royal Decree amended the existing Commercial Pledge law (the Existing Regulations) that was issued in 2019 and issued new regulations called Security Interest Over Movables Regulations (the New Regulations). The Implementing Regulations of the New Regulations have also been issued subsequently (the IRs).
