Abstract Reliable utilisation of wheel-rail adhesion is critical for heavy-haul locomotives operating near traction limits under variable rail conditions.
A method to numerically assess rail vehicle rolling resistance on tangent and curved tracks
?Mathematical formulae have been encoded as MathML and are displayed in this HTML version using MathJax in order to improve their display. Uncheck the box to turn MathJax off. This feature requires Javascript. Click on a formula to zoom. Abstract Rail vehicle resistance is a key factor for train energy, driving and planning issues. Direct use of traditional empirical formulas in this regard has been reported as inaccurate for a long time.
Parallel computing aided analyses of dynamic buckling for railway track infrastructure
1 INTRODUCTION Track buckling simulation has been a focal point of research in railway engineering, with analytical and numerical models serving as essential tools for understanding and predicting this failure mechanism.

Parallel Co-Simulation Method for Railway Vehicle-Track Dynamics
This paper introduces a new parallel co-simulation method to study vehicle-track dynamic interactions. The new method uses the transmission control protocol/internet protocol (TCP/IP) to enable co-simulation between a detailed in-house track dynamics simulation package and a commercial vehicle system dynamics simulation package. The exchanged information are wheel-rail contact forces and rail kinematics.
