1 Introduction Chlamydia is an intracellular pathogen, and it has the characteristic of a biphasic developmental cycle. Depending on the strain and serotype, Chlamydia can cause a wide range of human and animal infections [1]. Chlamydia can target the epithelium of the eye, respiratory tract and reproductive tract, causing diseases including trachoma, pneumonia, cervicitis, ectopic pregnancy and infertility, or can further invade local draining lymph nodes and cause systemic infections [2].
