A respected Southern California health care and clinical research leader, Manuel Marquez, MD, is currently transitioning toward responsibilities as a Tour Director with Insight Vacations. He will lead tours of national parks throughout much of the United States. Manuel Marquez, MD, will particularly focus on scenic areas of the Southwest and on Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
Dr. Marquez graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He completed his doctor of medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. His health care experience includes a past position with the Buenaventura Medical Group as Medical Executive Officer.
With a passion for history and geography, Dr. Marquez has visited diverse areas of the globe, from Africa to the Mayan and Pacific Riviera areas of Mexico. He supports organizations such as the The Nature Conservancy and SOAR (Save Open Space and Agricultural Resources). Manuel Marquez, MD, also contributes to NativeFuture.org as a website editor. The nonprofit funds efforts to help Panamanian people from indigenous communities to preserve their culture and identity.
