Marc Ramirez
VerifiedMarc Ramirez’s Biography
I'm a national correspondent for USA TODAY, where I write about Americana and issues of faith, identity and social justice. I'm passionate about narrative storytelling, stories about how we live and the culture of food and drink. I've previously worked for the Seattle Times, Phoenix New Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Dallas Morning News, where my two-year series about a boy preparing for a life of blindness won the 2012 National Headliner Award for feature writing. I also contributed to The Seattle Times' coverage of the shooting deaths of four police officers and subsequent manhunt, which won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for breaking-news reporting. In my reporting I've weathered Hurricane Michelle in Cuba and the Bay Area quake of 1989, gone behind the scenes at SNL, ridden aboard a flying cucumber and straddled a Harley from Seattle to Sturgis, South Dakota.
