What does it mean to be a journalist?
Journalists are here to allow people to make decisions based on truth. We are here to filter through the noise and tell stories.

Why did you become a journalist?
To share stories not heard before.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. We didn't have one! I did local hospital radio instead.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Keep EVERYTHING you create (early stories, reports). Nothing proves you want this job more than showing you are doing it whilst studying.

What's the best pitch you ever got?
One that told me what the story was an invited me to learn more - giving me direct access to people in the story.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Ones that are clearly out of my subject zone, where I am on some mailing list I didn't subscribe to.

On my mobile travelling to an event.

We get to go to lots of games for free and sit in exec boxes all the time.
