Yes, for years. Learning to type gave me my first job working at a better housewares magazine in NYC.

Everyone is a publisher now and has the ability to deliver news. There's no middle man, no time lag, and you get immediate feedback.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
It has forever been the "careful" warning to check carefully - a promo for Pen Island - no one double checked and it came out .

What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Not enough space for answer. I adore tech tools & exploring them. I use several cameras, photo drives, camera mounts, back up drives, etc.
What's your favorite social network?
A public park, filled with friends.
Why did you become a journalist?
I'm naturally curious, a tad nosey and a passionate storyteller with a gypsy soul. It's a perfect fit.
When's the best time to pitch you?
After I have had coffee.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
In general, I tend to be responsive to pitches that are targeted towards outdoor family travel, and that show a bit of research and thought.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Half the Cision spam that comes my way,but a pitch for vaginal rejuvenation stands out as the worst (no interest as a travel/nature writer).
What's your favorite drink?
Depends on the hour - coffee, fountain Diet Coke, pretty & sweet & creative cocktails. In that order.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Outside somewhere.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I love travel magazines & travel outlets and adore exploring. Strangely, I also enjoy cooking magazines yet have little desire cook.
