Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have! One of my best friends is obsessed with them and she owns two, which she's let me borrow to type out song lyrics before.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To me, being a journalist means providing readers with the most accurate, compelling information possible.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I actually didn't! I was a band kid through and through and helped my school win countless music awards.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I recently wrote an article about how Great Salt Lake's decline is (and will continue to) impact skiing. That lake is fascinating!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be curious, but also be cautious. Take every opportunity you possibly can, but always understand the contract first. Everything in balance.
What's your favorite drink?
If I'm working, I'm probably choosing a black drip coffee. When I'm off the clock, I love an Old Fashioned.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In the mountains or on a plane!
