Due to the continuous growth of automation in safety-critical systems during the last decade [1], Automated Driving Systems represent some of the most challenging applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) [2]. In particular, an ADS comprises a set of hardware and software elements capable of autonomously operating a vehicle in on-road traffic [3], [4]. An ADS is loaded with advanced components that can independently control its behavior or assist the human driver where required.
