Veronique migrated to Melbourne, Australia, from Mauritius, a small tropical island in the Indian Ocean. Veronique was 18 years old when she arrived in Australia 2 years ago with her family. Mauritius has a population of just over one million people; with a land mass of just over 2000 km2. It is a small, but densely populated country compared to Australia (with a population of 22 million and a land mass of 7.7 million km2).
