Behavioural scientists want to see more consideration of context — so why are they not using tools derived from ecology, the science of all life in context? We invite behavioural scientists to align the science of human behaviour with that of behavioural ecology.
Forming initial ideas about who we are and where we are going in life—establishing our senses of identity and self-direction—is an essential task of adolescence (e.g., Branje et al., 2021; Bronk, 2011; Damon et al., 2003). Happening alongside these processes, however, are several social, cognitive, physical, and personality-based changes that may put adolescents at risk for the onset of psychopathology (Solmi et al., 2022).
Abstract Objective The use of oral dextrose gel (DG) reduces IV dextrose use. Prior studies used weight-based dosing (WD), though barriers exist, and are mitigated using standard dosing (SD). Our outcomes include IV dextrose use, NICU admissions, breastfeeding, adverse events, and assessment of WD vs SD. Study design Retrospective chart review comparing pre-DG, WD, and SD in 16490 newborns (1329 hypoglycemic) ≥ 35 weeks admitted to the nursery over 3 years.
