Colorado Author Shelley Read’s New Chapter
For fifth-generation Coloradan Shelley Read, the landscapes of the Western Slope are more than the setting of her debut novel, Go as a River. They’re part of her own story. Growing up, Shelley swam in the waters of Blue Mesa Reservoir, fascinated by the knowledge that towns lay beneath its surface. She wondered about the ranchers and farmers displaced, as well as the Ute people who had been forced from their ancestral lands along the Gunnison River generations earlier.
Denver’s Mother Other Puts Vegetables First
When chef Alexi Mandolini and beverage director Taylor Herbert set out to turn their beloved pop-up, The Easy Vegan, into a permanent restaurant, they carried a deeply personal idea with them. Tucked just off South Broadway, Mother Other is both a plant-based destination and a tribute to the women who shaped them. “Lex and I both learned hospitality from the women in our lives, and we want to honor them through our work here,” Taylor says.
Open Press and Denver’s Printmaking Legacy
If you’ve ever admired a hand-pulled fine art print in Colorado, chances are Mark Lunning was part of its making. Since founding Open Press in 1989, Mark has served as a cornerstone of Denver’s creative ecosystem—wearing dual hats as an accomplished artist and a master printer collaborating with regional talents.
“DIVA” Takes the Denver Art Museum Stage
When the Denver Art Museum (DAM) set out to land DIVA, its team didn’t just wait around for a polite email. After hearing about the exhibition at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, DAM director Christoph Heinrich and board chair Sarah Anschutz traveled directly to London to make the case for Denver as the exclusive U.S. stop on the tour. And they pulled out all the stops.
The Natural Beauty of Twisted Pine Pottery
For ceramic artist Karley Hoffman, clay has always been part of the landscape of her life. Long before she began creating her own collection of handcrafted vessels, she was introduced to the artistry of pottery through her mother, a collector who often brought her daughter to handmade pottery shows. Those early experiences planted a seed that would eventually grow into Twisted Pine Pottery, Karley’s Denver-based ceramics studio.
Anythink Nature Library Goes Beyond Books
When the Anythink Nature Library opened in Thornton this August, it didn’t simply add another branch to Adams County’s library system. It introduced a new kind of public space, one designed to bring people closer to the natural world. More than 10,500 visitors stepped inside the 33,000-square-foot facility during its first two days. From the outside, the architecture takes its cues from the surrounding 140-acre Aylor Open Lands.
A Weekend Away at Hotel Longmont
Just steps away from the buzz of Main Street, Hotel Longmont greets guests with an immediate sense of effortless Western charm. Stepping into the lobby feels less like entering a traditional hotel and more like discovering a curated local sanctuary. Inside, the lounge captures the unhurried spirit of the Front Range. Designed like a cozy neighborhood haunt, it surrounds guests with rows of literature, handcrafted local accents, and the inviting warmth of an all-day coffee bar.
Meet Denver’s Expert on Italian Wine
Denver might be famous for its craft beer, but Scott Thomas is proving the Mile High City has a serious appetite for Italian wine. As sommelier for Restaurant Olivia and Dear Emilia, Scott holds one of the beverage world’s most elite titles: He is one of only 22 certified Italian Wine Experts globally. Scott has dedicated his career to understanding and demystifying Italy’s seemingly endless grape varieties and regional styles. “I was just hooked.
Targeting hormone treatment for the brain in menopause
Abstract Estrogens are neuroprotective, and menopause may contribute to neurodegeneration. Estriol preferentially binds estrogen receptor beta (ERβ) in brain to induce neuroprotection. Previously, oral estriol improved cognitive processing speed and reduced cerebral cortex atrophy at treatment month twelve in women with multiple sclerosis (MS).
A Taste of Dear Emilia
There is something quietly magical about stepping into Dear Emilia. Restaurant Olivia’s sister restaurant offers an intimate corner of Italy tucked into Denver’s vibrant dining scene. The space epitomizes understated elegance: warm lighting casts a soft glow across the room, natural textures create a sense of comfort, and every detail feels intentional, never overdone. The aesthetic is simple yet inviting, balancing modern sophistication with the warmth of an Italian farmhouse.
Everything to Know About the Palisade Peach Festival
Every August, as Colorado’s western slope reaches the height of peach season, the small town of Palisade transforms into one of the state’s sweetest summer destinations. Thousands of visitors make the trip for the annual Palisade Peach Festival, a celebration that honors the region’s rich agricultural heritage while showcasing the fruit that has become synonymous with Colorado summers.
A Wine Brand That Celebrates the Chaos of Motherhood
For plenty of women, “mom juice” has been something muttered over a glass of wine after a day where parenting took first priority. However, for the founders of Mom Juice, it became something much bigger: a brand rooted in honesty and the beautifully unfiltered chaos of modern motherhood. “The name Mom Juice started as an inside joke,” Macie Mincey, CEO and founder of the brand, relays.
Summer Crime Reads With a Colorado Connection
Colorado’s literary scene is having a moment, and not just the rugged, outdoorsy kind. Authors are using the state, and Denver in particular, as creative terrain for stories that are darker, funnier, and more psychologically complex. Bill Schweigart’s Dirty 20 and James Ellroy’s Red Sheet are bringing plenty of excitement to the bookshelf this summer. James Ellroy, the legendary crime novelist behind L.A. Confidential and The Black Dahlia, is back at it with his newest novel, Red Sheet.
Are Google Ads Worth the Investment in 2026?
The short answer: yes — but not in the same way they were even two years ago. Google’s advertising ecosystem is undergoing one of its largest transformations since the introduction of Smart Bidding. As AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Gemini-powered search experiences continue reshaping how users discover information, Google Ads is becoming increasingly AI-driven and dependent on advertiser data quality.
Nonprofits Planting Seeds for a More Connected City
From gardens to green spaces to classrooms, three Denver nonprofits are fostering connection and opportunity across the city. At Grow Local Colorado, the work starts in the soil but extends far beyond it. What began in 2009 as one garden at Civic Center Park has grown into a network of sites throughout Denver, all rooted in a simple but powerful idea: food can connect us.
Notace Designs Footwear for Colorado Terrain
In a market crowded with maximalist sneakers promising more—more cushion, more support, more technology—Notace is doing something quietly radical: less. The footwear brand was built on a simple belief that the body should do what it’s designed to do. As performance shoes became increasingly engineered and mass-produced, the Notace team saw a gap. What if, instead of adding, they refined, and what if function started not with technology, but with the foot itself?
SEO, AEO and Digital Optimization: Why Clear Brand Messaging Still Comes First
The way people discover brands online is indisputably changing. Consumers are no longer relying solely on traditional search queries to find information, compare products or evaluate companies. Increasingly, they are getting information and recommendations from AI-powered tools like ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot.
The Golden Bear Becomes a Symbol of the Vail Valley
Some mountain souvenirs fade. The Golden Bear does not. What began as a single design—a 14K yellow gold Mama Bear—has grown into one of the most recognizable symbols of the Vail Valley. Then came the Baby Bear, and from there, a legacy took shape: one strongly rooted in craftsmanship and connection. Today, The Golden Bear is more than a jewelry brand; it’s an unofficial emblem of the Vail Valley.
Explore Colorado’s Most Beautiful Luxury Guest Ranches
From horseback rides to fireside dinners, these Western getaways offer a refined take on ranch life. Tucked into a quiet river valley near Crawford, Smith Fork Ranch feels like your own private slice of the Wild West—reimagined with refined design, exceptional food, and complete seclusion. Tennessee Pass Cookhouse Turns Dinner Into a Mountain Adventure
Dinner begins not with a host stand, but with a check-in at the Nordic Center, where guests strap into cross-country skis or snowshoes (or hiking boots in the summer) and set off into the forest. The mile-long journey climbs steadily until a glowing yurt emerges between the trees. Inside, the true reward: a multi-course meal. The idea started simply. When the property’s owners first purchased the Nordic Center, they placed a few picnic tables along the trail.
Cold Mountain Craft Brings Handcrafted Leather Goods to the Rockies
There’s something about the mountains that invites reflection—the kind that lingers long after the trail ends. For Cold Mountain Craft, that spirit isn’t just a feeling; it’s the foundation of everything they make. Born out of time spent in the backcountry near Aspen, the brand began with a simple, practical need: a journal that could keep up. “I needed something that could handle the elements,” founder Trevor Washko explains.
A New Rhythm of Healing
In Denver, the name Cleo Parker Robinson doesn’t need much introduction. For decades, she has been a defining force in the city’s cultural landscapes within the arts: part artist, part educator, part visionary. Long before “community engagement” became a buzzword, Cleo was already doing the work by building spaces where dance could tell stories, bridge cultures, and unite people of every stripe and spirit.
The Artist Behind Tabletop Pieces Full of Life
On any given day, Julie Malone is carving, inking, and pressing her signature motifs by hand, one block at a time. A maker since childhood (she launched her first eBay shop at 12 years old), Julie has always paired artistry with entrepreneurship. In high school, she taught herself to silkscreen T-shirts for classmates—“so many ‘spring break ‘06’ shirts,” she laughs. But it was a tiny college apartment that nudged her toward the medium that would define her brand.
