C.C. Humphreys is the nom de plume for Toronto-born Chris Humphreys, who grew up in the U.K. and became an actor and playwright there before taking up novel-writing and eventually returning to Canada (he now lives in BC). Fire, the follow up to Plague, is fast-paced and salacious, set in London after the Great Plague but just before the Great Fire. Tensions in the city run high and so do appetites for everything from sex to violence to political intrigue to religious fervour.
