Impossible practices: on the ideology of codesign
ABSTRACT Codesign is widely framed as a democratic and inclusive practice, particularly in development-sector contexts where it is invoked as a way of ensuring that those affected by design have a voice in shaping decisions that concern them. Yet designers frequently encounter tensions between participatory ideals and the professional, institutional, and practical demands that shape design practice.
COVID-19 and the Return of a Dangerous Idea, Austerity
The past decade delivered powerful lessons of what not to do in an economic crisis. Many countries pursued, or had imposed on them, austerity policies. That is, cutting government spending when the economy tanks in order to balance the books. The idea is that with less spending now, taxes will be lower later on, which will make people feel more confident now, thereby shortening the recession. It’s a nice idea. But it actually makes things worse.
Places to fish: The Harris Chain
The Harris Chain is an anglers’ paradise. Clean waters, perfect cover and easy access makes the Harris Chain of Lakes an excellent place for any angler. The largemouth bass fishing is top-notch. You can catch both good numbers and plenty of trophy fish. The most difficult decision you might have is how to target bass throughout the chain. Rat-L-Traps, crankbaits and chatterbaits cover a lot of ground when searching for where fish are staging.
Places to fish: The Conway Chain
For numbers, it’s hard to beat the Conway Chain. Many times throughout the year anglers can catch good numbers of largemouth bass on the Conway Chain of Lakes located in Orlando. Catching 20-plus fish a day is almost considered easy when fish make their presence known by schooling and chasing bait at the surface.

Places to fish: Indian River
The Indian River can produce some big catches: If you’re wanting a trophy redfish, a 40-inch plus fish, the Indian River is a good place to start to complete that mission. During the summer time big redfish school up in the river, and if you find schools of feeding fish the action can be insane for a few hours. Many target reds with cut baits and live shrimp, but surface plugs, spoons and soft plastic jerkbaits all work well for them also.

Places to fish: The Kissimmee Chain
The Kissimmee Chain is both challenging and rewarding: If you live or visit the area, and you love bass fishing, the Kissimmee Chain is a must. One of the most difficult things about the chain is figuring out where you want to start fishing. The whole place looks fishy, and everywhere you cast you believe you should get a hit. The abundance of grass beds and forage make it prime largemouth bass country.

Places to fish: The Surf
Try the surf for a variety of action: One of the easiest and most relaxing ways to ease into fishing is to try the surf. You will need some sturdy gear and a few rigs, but almost anyone can get started doing this in very little time. Buy a surf rod and a reel with plenty of line and head out to either coast and begin the process. One of the biggest mistakes made is casting as far as you can in the surf; many times fish are much closer.
