What's your favorite social network?

I have to go with Twitter. I feel like it's the most relevant and useful to our roles as journalists.

Why did you become a journalist?

I want to hold the powerful accountable and give my community — and other underrepresented communities — a voice.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes! I held the positon of “writing executive.” I basically led our team of writers in generating story ideas.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My first byline and first feature for The Charlatan. It was an important story to share and the process was very memorable.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Just go for it! The best way to learn is to actually do the work.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I love The Walrus!
