Hello, I am a freelance writer and critic with a focus on LGBTQ+ entertainment and topics.
I live in South Texas, having worked in local news for almost 5 years while remotely freelancing news content. However, I am now focusing on entertainment and LGBTQ+ content, having recently become a member of GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ+ Entertainment Critics and NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists.
I began my career working at my college paper, working my way up to Editor-in-Chief, while freelance reviewing film and TV. As an editor and reporter at my college newspaper, The Foghorn received national accolades for its design, writing, and overall excellence. The Texas Intercollegiate Press Association recognized me for my work covering Hurricane Harvey in 2018 and the Associated College Press Pacemakers have recognized my work as an editor on the paper in 2017.
I have had my worked published in the Associated Press, BuzzFeed, GLAAD, and INTO and am setting up my own queer news and culture podcast.
I've done work with Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation in a journalism program called "Channel Kindness," meant to highlight positive, local stories. One of my stories was chosen to be featured in a published book that became a 2020 New York Times Bestseller.
