What was your first job as a journalist?

Web editor of my college newspaper.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Gossip Girl.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Google docs, grammarly, Word and the internet.

What's your favorite social network?

My neighborhood duck park.

Why did you become a journalist?

Because I'm curious about the way people live in this moment.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I did a deep-dive opioid story for my South Texas town and that was for sure one of my most impactful pieces to me personally.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Always get the spelling of their name.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Afternoon works the best. I'm not a morning person

What's your favorite drink?

Dr. Pepper.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Playing with my cat against her will.
