Markus Wilhelm’s Biography
An accomplished business professional with over three decades of experience in brand development, Markus Wilhelm began his career at German mass media firm Bertelsmann AG, where he served as director of business development. Holding an advanced business degree from University of Passau in Germany, Markus Wilhelm held executive positions at Doubleday Canada and Doubleday Direct USA before overseeing operations throughout the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, and Korea as a CEO at DirectGroup Bertelsmann.
For a year, Mr. Wilhelm served as chairman of Paramount Equity Mortgage before returning to the communications sector as a board member of international direct marketing firm Guthy-Renker. In addition to this position, he also spearheads the solar energy development activities of Strata Solar, LLC as chief executive officer.
As a leader in the US solar industry, Strata Solar plans to develop approximately one gigawatt of solar power by 2017. To that end, Marcus Wilhelm leads the delivery of Strata Solar’s full range of solar services, including project development, engineering, financing, and construction, and facilitates utility-scale solar power.
