It changes the news because people are more concerned with being first, than with being accurate.

Doing research, telling authentic stories, and providing a platform to showcase others.

Why did you become a journalist?

I enjoy making people feel things with words.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Lots of stories I'm proud of, but I'd say my most recent cover story is something I still get excited about.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Know your worth. Continue to advocate for yourself and your stories.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

People think beauty and fashion are on the surface. Fatphobia, colorism, and lack of diversity are important topics that I cover.
