'Incredible relief' as court refuses serial rapist's sentence appeal

Christopher Malcolm, 37, raped, attacked and abused former partners - preventing one from attending her own father's funeral - at locations in Moray and Lothian. A court heard he subjected the first woman to abuse when he was just 19 in 2008, and carried on "terrorising" others until his arrest in 2024.

Sandie Peggie's views had 'no bearing' on refusing legal support, union says
A nursing union has told a tribunal it did not give Sandie Peggie legal advice because her case did not fit with its rules – and that the decision had nothing to do with her gender critical views. Peggie claims the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) failed to properly support and advise her after she was suspended over a complaint about her behaviour by a transgender doctor. The RCN disputes the claim.

We saw signs of domestic abuse, but we didn't know how to protect Stacy
Stacy Hunter's family saw clear signs that she was being manipulated, controlled and abused by her estranged husband Jim Mair long before he murdered her. Mair "dictated" what was happening in Stacy's life, used her three children as leverage, threatened suicide, and took his violent temper out on objects in the house - without laying a hand on Stacy directly. Her brother Sean wanted to intervene and help her, but he worried about being too "full on" and potentially causing more harm.
