Roberto Duran vs Juan Roldan
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Ken Ashcroft, . Who wins this middleweight battle? Jel, Richard M Murrieta and Jamal Perkins like this. Good match-up. Just to **** people off, I'll pick Roldan. JabbaTheGut, BoxxyMcBoxface, Richard M Murrieta and 2 others like this. It's a bit of a tough one but I'll go roldan by unanimous Dec.

Prime Hearns vs Barkley at Super Welter
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Matt Bargas, . We all know what happened to Hearns vs Barkley, but what if they had fought in 84, at Super Welter, when Hearns was at his best They sere both about the same height but Barkley had the thicker frame, so he would probably lose some muscle to make weight Any thoughts on the hypothetical outcome? Aaron Pryor vs Floyd Mayweather
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Matt Bargas, . I think it's honestly a pick em, but I tend to believe Pryor would win in a close one. Toney F*** U, Reinhardt, George Crowcroft and 4 others like this. Floyd wide, although I wouldn’t mind seeing him lose. I just don’t think Pryor can get it done. Toney F*** U, Devon, Golden_Feather99 and 1 other person like this.
Sugar Ray Robinson vs Robero Duran at 135
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Matt Bargas, . Sugar Ray is well remembered for his dominance at welterweight ahd middleweight but he began his professional career as a lightweight. So if he fought Duran at this weight will it be like Hearns vs Duran or like Leonard vs Duran? Your name or email address: Do you already have an account? No, create an account now. 135 pd Roberto vs. Leo, Hag and Hearns
The Morlocks said: ↑ Spent themorning watching Duran vs. De Jesus 2 from 1974 and other Duran mid70s fights. Duran is so fast and ultra aggressive. A crushing snap puncher with both hands. I do not believe this Duran on a pd for pd fight, has any trouble with Hagler or Leonard at all. Duran by KO. AND FOR SURE DURAN KOS WHITAKER. For the eye test, Duran just appears at his best to be able to do things noone else has ever done before or since. Click to expand...

Hearns vs Bivol
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Matt Bargas, . At Super Middleweight Who wins? Bivol is the type of fighter Hearns beats. He would get killed vs Beterbiev though. Boxingfan2 and George Crowcroft like this. Matt Bargas said: ↑ At Super Middleweight Who wins? Click to expand... good style for Hearns who would jab and win a late TKO or decision.. We have no idea what Bivol is capable of since he rarely leaves gear #1. He has never been outboxed or outclassed by a better boxer.
Duran Barkley revisited
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Matt Bargas, . What if they had a rematch? Could Barkley change his strategy? Using his longer reach to keep Duran away, and then nail him as he tries to get inside. Sort of like Foreman vs Frazier. It's possible and it also depends if Duran was serious in the rematch or just showing up for a check. If he was serious again I think he beats Barkley countering him better than the first fight. If not Barkley could win a decision.
No mas!-Explained!
Both fighters confirmed on Oct. 2, 1980, that the fight would take place on Nov. 25. https://www.upi.com/Archives/1980/10/02/By-JOE-CARNICELLI/7610339307200/ It was officially announced a couple of days later to press attending the Holmes-Ali fight. So that’s nearly 2 months. No way they are there together to make this announcement if the deal hadn’t yet been reached at least a few days prior, so you’re at least 2 months out that they know they have to start training. The first fight was June 20.
Aaron Pryor vs Wilfred Benitez At 140
I picked Benitez because he fought better guys a few times than Pryor, although I think 154 was Benitez best weight. Had he not been beaten by Hearns, I could see him defend the 154 pound title until maybe 1986, but he lost to Tommy and fought a guy who utilizes size in Hamsho at 160. Then his confidence seemed to take a hit. Click to expand... Yeah. Benitez at 154 was all muscle. Pryor would be pudgy at 154. Actually he was kinda pudgy at 140. He could easily fight at 135 or less.
Julio Cesar Chavez Sr vs Aaron Pryor At 140
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > Classic Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by sas6789, May 26, 2019. This fight would be stupidly brutal I take Chavez by late stoppage Chavez had better head movement coming in and was harder to hit with hooks because of where his rioght hand was positioned, his gloves were held nearer his chin so he blocked punches very well. Chavez had laser accuracy, good defense, incredible body attack. He has a lethal right hand.
Weight Training
How much does weight training help? It certainly helped Holyfield as he moved up to HW, but what about the lower weight divisions? As they get bigger...
What strategy would Leonard use against Pryor
1. Toe to toe as he did in the first Duran fight? 2. Clowning as in Duran II?
