Matthew Choi’s Biography
My name is Matthew Choi, and I’m a reporter interested in politics and public policy. I graduated from Northwestern University in 2018, where I lived and breathed The Daily Northwestern. I now work as a reporting fellow for The Texas Tribune, where I cover everything from agriculture and border control to healthcare and education. This September, I'll start as a reporting intern with POLITICO.
I’m originally from the multicultural suburbs of Northern Virginia only a stone’s throw from Washington, D.C. My interests include cooking, reading, learning languages and U.S. foreign policy. In the summer of 2017, I was an Annenberg Fellow with the Council of American Ambassadors, where I was mentored by Ambassador Julia Chang Bloch.
In high school, I packed my bags and lived in the French countryside for a year with a host family. I studied at the local high school and was completely immersed in the French culture and language. Aujourd’hui, je parle couramment le Français et je cherche toujours du bon fromage sur ce côté de l’Atlantique.
Catch me in my kitchen cooking French country food while listening to Simon and Garfunkel.
