I am the publisher of TheDesk.net, which covers the intersections of business, technology and media. I also contribute news and editorial content to several media-focused publications, including Stream TV Insider (Fierce Video), Digital Content Next and KnowTechie.
Previously, I worked as the digital editor for Comstock’s magazine. Before joining Comstock’s I was a reporter for McNaughton Newspapers (Winters Express, Fairfield-Suisun Daily Republic). From 2019 to 2020, I received eight California Journalism Awards in various categories, including breaking news, investigative reporting and featured story; I was a California Journalism Award finalist for reporting on local government.
My career has spanned the fields of broadcasting (CBS Radio, KTXL-TV Sacramento, KGO-TV San Francisco), business news (Thomson Reuters, Comstock's magazine), social media and digital reporting (Grasswire, The Blot Magazine, The Desk, Radio Ink), with positions ranging from startup and local news operations to international media powerhouses.
In 2012, TIME Magazine named my Twitter account among 140 must-follows for the year. The Huffington Post recommended my Facebook account for news enthusiasts to follow. In 2011, I was a finalist for an Online Journalism Association award in the category of breaking news.
