Matthew Oldford’s Biography

Born in 1980 in Canada, Matthew Oldford is an accomplished entrepreneur, real estate investor, developer, and the owner of Matty Renos, a company celebrated for its high-quality renovation services and precise attention to detail. He also holds accreditation as a Chief Financial Planner (CFP).

He embarked on his construction career at 22, following his education at Nova Scotia Community College. Starting without prior experience, he quickly mastered the complexities of building systems and construction methodologies in both residential and commercial sectors. His early career saw him working as a coastal roofing quoting agent for five years, rapidly advancing to manage large-scale projects ranging from $20,000 to $250,000.

After returning to NSCC in 2007 to obtain an investment management accreditation, he shifted to the financial sector. He worked as a financial planner and later as a mobile mortgage specialist at Scotiabank, utilizing his deep understanding of the residential mortgage market. In 2017, he returned to construction, taking on a foreman role at the Laborer's International Union of North America (LIUNA), managing teams of 10 to 15 people.

In 2018, leveraging his extensive knowledge in finance and construction, he founded Matty Renos. He initially converted a residential property into a highly successful Airbnb, which led to further ventures such as transforming a single-family home into a duplex and, subsequently, a triplex, greatly enhancing his portfolio.

His company, Matty Renos, now offers a broad range of services, including complete home remodeling, kitchen and bathroom upgrades, and more. His approach is client-centered, focusing on understanding and fulfilling the homeowner's functional needs and design preferences from start to finish.

Matthew Oldford's commitment to excellence extends beyond business. He enjoys a healthy lifestyle, actively participates in golf and yoga, and maintains fitness, which is essential in his physically demanding field. Additionally, he is dedicated to his community, volunteering for Feed Nova Scotia, a charity that distributes food to those in need across the province.

His blend of business acumen, dedication to community, and personal integrity make him a distinguished figure in both his industry and his community.
