For the better and worse. Mistakes are made more easily, but shortform "micronews" is a style that many can learn from. News is immediate.

I'm a collector of notebooks, usually of the small variety. I also use productivity software, namely Google Drive, Evernote, and Trello.

Why did you become a journalist?
Writing for me was initially a hobby that developed into a trade. I wrote primarily for marketing, then applied my interests to my skills.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am most proud of my work with the LGBTQ angle because I feel like almost all of it lifesaving as long as I am normalizing queer issues.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Keep going. Sometimes you might look back on your early work and cringe, and that's okay. Read, read, read. Absorb as much as you can.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime. If an idea is important to someone, cutting myself off to listening when they are ready to share might weaken the pitch/story.
