Condensed Matter > Superconductivity
We study the stimulation of superconductivity by an external electromagnetic radiation --- the Eliashberg effect --- in a disordered $d$-wave superconductor. We use the self-consistent Keldysh--Nambu quasiclassical formalism augmented by an inelastic relaxation term to compute the static correction to the pairing amplitude by treating elastic scattering within the Born approximation with the full second-order impurity vertex retained.
Inverse Faraday effect in superconductors with potential impurities
I consider a nonlinear response of conventional superconductors contaminated with nonmagnetic impurities or imperfections to a circular polarized light. I focus on dc contributions to the induced current density which describe the emergence of the static magnetization in a superconductor. This effect is known as inverse Faraday effect.
Topological mixed valence model in magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene
We develop a model to describe the mixed valence regime in magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene (MATBG) using the recently developed heavy-fermion framework. By employing the large-N slave-boson approach, we derive the self-consistent mean-field equations and solve them numerically. We find that the SU(8) local flat-band electron symmetry constraint moiré system exhibits mixed valence properties that are different from conventional heavy-fermion systems.
Collisionless dynamics of the pairing amplitude in disordered superconductors
I consider relaxation of the pairing amplitude in a disordered Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) superconductor in the absence of the two-particle collisions. My main assumption is that nonmagnetic and magnetic disorder scattering rates are much smaller than the value of the superconducting pairing gap Δ0. I derive a system of nonlinear equations which describe the collisionless relaxation of the pairing amplitude following a quench of the pairing strength.
Amplitude Higgs mode in superconductors with magnetic impurities
We study the nonlinear response of conventional superconducting alloys with weak magnetic impurities to an external alternating electromagnetic field.
Transport anomalies in multiband superconductors near the quantum critical point
We study the effects of quantum fluctuations on the transport properties of multiband superconductors near a pair-breaking quantum critical point. For this purpose, we consider a minimal model of the quantum phase transition in a system with two nested two-dimensional Fermi surfaces. Under the assumption that doping the system adds nonmagnetic impurities but does not change the densities of carriers, we include disorder potentials that render both intra- and interband collisions.
