Last night, at a live ceremony held in Madrid, The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 were announced, with three of Australia’s bars ranking among the best global hospitality venues. After taking home the prestigious Mitcher’s Art of Hospitality Award earlier this month, Caretaker’s Cottage in Melbourne climbed two places to number 21, triumphantly claiming the title of Best Bar in Australasia, which has previously been won by Maybe Sammy every year since 2019.
Located in The Rocks, Maybe Sammy is one of Sydney's best cocktail bars. Sydney's Maybe Sammy was named as one of the World's 50 Best bars (four years in a row) in 2022. Takes inspiration from the roaring Fifties, the rebirth of cool, the era where fashion and fun prevailed. A time when The Rat Pack and Hollywood glamour were revered and admired. Our Signature Drinks are named after some of "the boys" favourite haunts on the Vegas strip.

Australia is represented well throughout the nominees, making a mark on seven of the international categories. The news comes after Australian venues also shined in the regional Top 10s, which were announced last month.
