Mazen Mokhtar’s Biography
Mazen Mokhtar has built an outstanding career over the last 28 years. He currently serves as the CEO of Baitulmaal, an international humanitarian organization recognized for its expansive outreach. Previously, he led the Muslim American Society (MAS) as Executive Director, focusing on developing impactful programs for American Muslim youth.
Mazen's leadership is defined by strategic innovation and an ability to drive substantial organizational growth. His fluency in English, Arabic, and French enhances his capability to manage diverse teams effectively and engage with stakeholders on various levels.
Operating from Baitulmaal's headquarters in Irving, Texas, Mazen is responsible for setting the strategic agenda and overseeing humanitarian operations across more than 23 countries, including significant efforts within the U.S. He manages the organization’s finances. He proactively formed strategic alliances and played an instrumental role in founding the American Humanitarian Forum in 2019.
During his tenure at MAS from 2013 to 2018, Mazen Moein Mokhtar oversaw a broad network of chapters and launched several initiatives to enhance community service and educational outreach. His commitment to cultural and religious sensitivity is evident from his participation in West Point's "Winning the Peace" program.
Mazen is a renowned speaker, often invited to share his insights on youth, Islam, and interfaith issues at leading universities like Princeton and NYU, underscoring his commitment to education and dialogue.
Mazen had a successful IT career before his significant roles in the nonprofit realm. He founded MindCraft, an IT consulting firm that catered to a diverse clientele, including major corporations. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering and has contributed to academic literature, including innovative solutions to the Traveling Salesman Problem.
Living in Irving, Texas, with his family, Mazen Mokhtar is deeply committed to his community and philanthropic work. He is driven by the values instilled in him during his upbringing in Alexandria, Egypt. His interests in history, reading, chess, and traveling enrich his life and inspire his professional endeavors and community involvement.
