McCreary Powers is an extraordinary and accomplished leader who has left a mark through education, sport and involvement in her community. For the first ten years of her career, she was a fourth-grade teacher, where she gained a solid standing for being an effective and tolerant educator. Alongside teaching, she also coached tennis and badminton at her local high school, generously passing on her knowledge of these sports and being an admirable example for students.
