I never got to tell you how thankful I am that you spent time doing my hair, putting blush on me, and watching me twirl around stage a few times.

I Went On a Spring Break Trip That Changed My Life
While I adore beaches, fancy drinks, spas, and plush hotel beds as much as anyone, this past spring break I decided to do something totally different. Instead of traveling to a fabulous all-inclusive resort, I took a huge leap of faith and did the complete opposite. While others had luxury, I experienced church floors, dirty labor, and very long bus rides.

Emma Watson Is Going to be the Perfect Belle
Beauty and the Beast is premiering in theaters on Mar. 17, and Disney fans all over the world are buzzing with excitement. Growing up, my favorite Disney movies always involved animals instead of humans (Lion King, Aristocats, etc.). That said, I joined the Disney princess bandwagon a little late in life. But, it was undeniable that Belle was my favorite princess once I had the ability to appreciate her for everything she is and stands for.

Walking down State Street, it is easy to become distracted by the many flashing signs, cries from the street corners or the stunning view of the Capitol in the distance. Amidst all the clutter, tucked between the Asian Kitchen and Pita Pit, is Four-Star Video Cooperative. Perhaps the strongest pull to the store is simply the fact that, yes, there is a video rental store that still exists and yes, it is 2017. “I think it’s the biggest video store in Wisconsin, and we have the most titles.

HC Movie Review: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Now don’t get me wrong, I am a die-hard Harry Potter fan, but I just was not excited for Fantastic Beasts. Maybe it was the trailer’s lack of revealing any of the plot or maybe it was just that I hadn’t already read the book (since it was a textbook?), so I didn’t have any prior excitement to build off of before seeing the movie. I just was not pumped for it – but boy, I should have been.
What We’re Watching: Good Girls Revolt
Amazon Prime came out with a new series that has sparked the interest of many Mad Men fanatics, especially the women. Good Girls Revolt is about women employed at a magazine called News of the Week (subtle subtweet @Newsweek) during the 1960’s, where they do all the work and the men get all the credit. Totally unbelievable, am I right? The women in the show are hired as “researchers” but are designated to find the information, gather sources, and essentially make the story.
In a World Where Hate Defeats Love
Ever wonder what a world where hate exists and love is hard to be found would be like? Look around. The nation, the state of Wisconsin, and our own UW-Madison campus have been showing glimpses all year of what a world dominated by hate could look like. But these incidents aren’t episodes of a TV show, and I’m not hearing about these events happening in another country from the safety of my bedroom. This hate is close, it is real, and it is personal.
A Ride on the Metro Bus as told by "Mean Girls"
You know you need to get to work in an hour, and work is way off campus. Uber is too expensive, you don’t have time to walk, and nope–you don’t have a car on campus. Guess you’re out of luck. But have no fear, the metro bus is here. Actually, it probably isn’t. Sure google maps says it was supposed to arrive five minutes ago, but there’s no doubt in my mind you’ll have to wait another 25 minutes for it to arrive—minimum.
