McMaster researchers turn food waste into energy and use water produced to grow food

From left, Shakirudeen Salaudeen and Nancy Boamah from the Faculty of Engineering; Robin Cameron and Fathy El-Gebaly from the Faculty of Science. Food and other organic material accounts for a third of Ontario’s waste stream, and 60 per cent of that waste winds up in municipal landfills.
ReThinking clinical reasoning: A paradigm shift
1 INTRODUCTION Clinical reasoning research emerged to study how healthcare practitioners think about diagnosis and management within the clinical setting.1 Research on management reasoning was slower to progress compared to research on diagnosis,2 perhaps in part due to the affinity between the diagnostic process and experimental psychology. Research on diagnostic reasoning, owes much of its lineage and traditions to its parent discipline, psychology.
Case Report: Prolonged remission of metastatic cisplatin-refractory nasopharyngeal carcinoma with Pembrolizumab
1 Introduction Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) arises from the epithelium of the nasopharynx and has a high tendency to metastasize. What do evidence-based secondary journals tell us about the publication of clinically important articles in primary healthcare journals?
For 2000, the 170 core journals we selected published 60,352 articles. The total number of pass articles was 3059 for original studies and 1073 for reviews. An article could be counted more than once if it passed for multiple categories. Six journals did not publish any pass articles. The complete list of journals and their yield appears in the Additional File 1.
