Lubbock Independent School District (Lubbock ISD) is seeking community feedback on naming the district’s three new elementary schools being built as part of the 2025 bond. The district will host a town hall meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center (3201 Ave. Q).

Lubbock Fire Rescue (LFR) is proud to announce the addition of Brush 206, the department’s newest wildland firefighting apparatus, now in service at Fire Station 20. Brush 206 has been strategically assigned to Fire Station 20, home to Lubbock Fire Rescue’s Wildland Crew and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) team.

The reasons behind the claim are simple: they are returning 23 starters from last year’s team and have improved in some key position groups as well. Those groups include the offensive line, wide receivers and the defensive line.

Well for two seniors who saw their collegiate careers come to a close and pro ones start. Jackie Lis and NiJaree Canady have both found themselves in the AUSL (Athletes Unlimited Softball League) which is the pro league for softball that is backed by the MLB.
