Lubbock ISD Launches 2026-2027 Community Leadership Academy
Lubbock Independent School District (Lubbock ISD) is currently accepting applications for its annual Community Leadership Academy. Meetings for the academy begin in October 2026 and conclude in April 2027 for a total of seven meetings over the course of the 2026-2027 school year. RV/No. 17 Texas Tech hits the road for the first match of September on Thursday night when they make the short trip across the State of Texas to face SMU at Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium. First touch from Highland Park is set for 7 p.m. Riding a 15-match in-state (Texas) unbeaten streak (11-0-4) dating back to an Oct. 25, 2024 loss at home to BYU, Texas Tech will also seek to extend a 12-match winning streak following a loss or draw that includes six wins a season ago and five wins in 2024.
Red Raiders back on the road
The Red Raiders go back on the road this weekend as they face St. Mary’s (2-1) on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT, Sacramento State (0-3) on Friday at 9 p.m. CT, before capping the weekend against Nevada (0-2) on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT. All three matches will take place in Sacramento as part of the Sacramento State Invitational.
More preseason honors roll in for Tech trio
The Texas Tech men’s golf trio of Adam Bresnu, Connor Graham and Tim Wiedemeyer added Golfweek preseason All-America honors to their respective resumes on Tuesday, as Golfweek announced its 2026-27 Men’s College Golf preseason All-America team. The Red Raiders share the nation’s lead in selections with Florida and Oklahoma State, who also had three selections each. The three schools account for nine of the 30 All-America selections by Golfweek on Tuesday.
