I will always pick Shreveport Regional Airport as my go-to fly-out spot. The thought of driving three and a half hours all the way to Dallas, navigating a massive, chaotic airport, and finding long-term parking, all before even stepping onto a four-hour flight, is a hard no for me. No sir, no ma'am. Find me happily paying a little extra to fly direct to DFW, because it turns out I actually end up saving money and sanity every single time.

Residents of Shreveport have concerns about bulk pickup of items that get put out on the curb and sit for weeks. But one of the big problems is that residents aren't following the guidelines for getting the city to pick up the trash and debris. Bulk trash collection operates strictly by appointment on designated service days. In an alert from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that tonight only, from 8:00 pm until 6:00 am tomorrow morning, while crews work to repair a crash attenuator, the LA 1 (Youree Drive/North Spring Street) northbound ramp to I-20 eastbound in Shreveport will be closed.

Shreveport Police have charged a woman with theft after an investigation into appliances that were taken from an apartment during a move-out. Officers were called by management at the Silver Pines South Pointe Apartments, after finding a refrigerator and stove belonging to the apartment complex were missing. The appliances were valued at around $1,200. During the investigation, SPD Detectives learned that witnesses saw Precious Shanell N.

A Woodlawn High School teacher has been arrested following allegations that he showed inappropriate images to a 15 year-old student. The investigation began late last month, after the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office was told of suspected inappropriate communication from a teacher, 28 year-old Demetric A. Preston, to a student at Woodlawn High School. The 15 year-old student told school officials that Preston had shown them nude images of himself during the first week of school.
