Shreveport Police Arrest Two for Attempted Check Fraud

Shreveport Police have arrested two suspects following an attempted check fraud incident that led to a vehicle chase. SPD was contacted after representatives from Barksdale Federal Credit Union, on Youree Drive, reported an attempt to cash a fraudulent check. The suspects, identified as Jaderria Williams and Desmond Anderson, fled from the location in a vehicle, leading officers on a chase that ended on Bert Kouns Industrial Loop after the car crashed. Both Williams and Anderson were detained.

Caddo Correctional Center Booking Photos July 4th-10th

This week, 73 people were booked and kept in Caddo Correctional Center for various crimes. One of those booked was arrested after bringing a gun in to a local hospital. Shreveport Police have arrested a convicted felon after he entered Willis-Knighton North Hospital while armed with a gun. Yesterday, at 12:20 a.m., Shreveport Police Officers were dispatched to Willis-Knighton North Hospital on Greenwood Road, in reference to an armed man at the emergency entrance.

Shreveport Man Found Guilty of 2023 Murder in Caddo Court

A man accused of gunning down a woman three years ago was convicted in Caddo District Court Wednesday. The jury spent less than 15 minutes deliberating before returning its guilty-as-charged verdict against 22 year-old Edduin Silva of Shreveport. He was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the 2023 shooting and killing of Amaya Jacobs. The 35 year-old woman was shot several times in the face as she drove near Fairfax Avenue and Morningside Drive in the Caddo Heights neighborhood.
