If you read my story yesterday, Iowa farmers were getting some temporary relief on diesel costs thanks to a proclamation from Gov. Kim Reynolds. Now, that relief has been expanded to cover even more agriculture products. Reynolds announced the update this morning (Wednesday, October 7, 2026) adding livestock, livestock feed, soybean meal, and other farm products to the list of items that can be transported on Iowa public roads using dyed diesel fuel under the temporary rules.

A 23-year-old woman is facing charges after police say she pretended to be a substitute teacher and entered a classroom at Rufus King International High School in Milwaukee. According to a criminal complaint, Amy Jones had visited the school about a week before the incident and reportedly learned about the substitute teacher process after overhearing staff in the main office.

After months of detours and ferry rides, the Lansing bridge across the Mississippi River is finally complete! Bridge Completed Ahead of Schedule The Des Moines Register reports that the replacement bridge in Lansing is finally complete. The project is done well ahead of the original timeline, which didn't have the bridge opening until spring 2027. Favorable weather and good river conditions allowed crews to finish the job ahead of schedule, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation.
