A man and a woman in their 80s have been seriously injured in a single-car collision on the M50. It happened at about 3.20PM this afternoon on the southbound side of the road, near the Ballymount ramp. Both the man and the woman have been taken to hospital for treatment. The southbound side of the M50 remains closed and "severe" delays are expected in Tallaght and other nearby areas. Diversions are in place and Transport Infrastructure Ireland is urging motorists to use a different route.

Dozens of stolen laptops and phones have been recovered following an operation in Dublin city. Gardaí are describing it as a significant haul of electronic devices and follows an investigation which was launched last month. Officers from Store Street were supported by members of the National Economic Crime Bureau after a stolen mobile phone was traced to a premises in Dublin city centre. 49% of people have felt unsafe on public transport at least once. That's from a new report from the National Transport Authority. It shows almost 90% of passengers rate public transport as very or fairly safe in morning and during the day, but the ranking drops in the evening. The most common reasons for this were drunk people, other passengers being verbally aggressive, harassment, and drugs.
