The Independent Packaging Association
VerifiedOnline/Digital
AICC, The Independent Packaging Association represents and protects the business interests of our members in the independent sector of the corrugated, folding carton, and rigid box industries.
AICC held its first national meeting in the fall of 1974 at the Stouffer’s Riverfront Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. The 90 attendees represented fifty-four companies. They were united by a need to survive, and to set the mission that would serve independent box plant owners and operators. Source

Corrugated and Containerboard History: Part Three
Over 10 years ago, we published a trilogy of articles highlighting the last 50–70 years of our industry. As your Association prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary in April in Palm Desert, California, we wanted to remind everyone where we came from. Our current chairman, Matt Davis, has said, “We need to embrace and honor the past. Remember the independent advantage!” Macon Kraft In 1986, Richard Pratt bought this 1948 vintage mill in Georgia as his first step into the U.S. market.
Corrugated Far and Wide
It’s a small world, after all. Through economic swings and international turmoil, the worldwide corrugated industry shares common challenges and opportunities. “I have witnessed this market’s remarkable growth, which has also withstood various global challenges but has emerged stronger than ever,” says Andrea Mora, executive director of the Association of Corrugators of the Caribbean, Central, and South America (ACCCSA).
Buffalo Leadership
Living in Colorado my whole life, I have always been intrigued by the buffalo. My fascination began with our family tradition of attending University of Colorado football games. These years were extra special watching Dave DeLine (now fourth-generation owner of DeLine Box) as the team’s starting kicker and upsetting No. 3 Nebraska, including a 57-yard field goal.
Business Tax Cuts in the Offing?
As I write this Legislative Report, Congress is on the threshold of accomplishing something good for business: passing the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act.
Beyond Spring Cleaning
I like order. I enjoy building systems to create and maintain order. I understand the need for routine maintenance, but I’ve always seen it as drudgery. I also hate repeating a job because a good system fails for lack of follow-through. Spring cleaning is one of these jobs in which enthusiastic effort is expended with high hopes that the cleaner, more spacious, and functional space will last. When disorder returns, that enthusiasm may sour to cynicism and discourage involvement the following spring.
Maximizing Online Visibility for Packaging Manufacturers: On-Site vs. Off-Site Strategies
In a competitive market space such as packaging, a digital presence is critical for reaching potential customers. Most packaging manufacturers understand the importance of having a website to showcase their services and capabilities, and many are aware that search engine optimization (SEO) is required to drive people to their websites. But if asked what SEO entails, for many, things get a bit fuzzy.
A Force for Independents
