The University of Wisconsin football team is set to return home looking for a bounce-back win following its lopsided season-opening loss against Notre Dame on Sunday at Lambeau Field. Next up for the Badgers is their home opener against FCS foe Western Illinois at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. Here are five things to know about the Leathernecks ahead of the matchup. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse football team opened the season with disappointment as it narrowly lost 24-21 to No. 11 St. John’s on Saturday at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville, Minnesota. It was the first opening-week loss for the Eagles since 2013. UWL entered the season ranked No. 10 in the D3football.com top 25 preseason poll, but had won only one prior game in the series with St. John’s.
