DALLAS — When the Dallas Stars announced their promotional schedule for the 2026-27 season Friday, one recurring theme night was notably missing. For the first time in at least five years, the Stars will not host a Pride Night. The Stars have hosted a night dedicated to LGBTQ+ inclusivity in February or March of each of their last five seasons. Instead, the team will host a game dubbed "Hockey Unites Us: Women in Sports Night" on March 23 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

There is no greater individual honor for an SMU football player than being chosen to wear No. 23. The jersey, worn by Jerry LeVias, the first Black player to earn an athletic scholarship at SMU and in the Southwest Conference, is awarded to the SMU player each year who best exemplifies the leadership and courage displayed by LeVias. The tradition, which has been in place since 2009 and remained intact through four head coaches, will be carried on by linebacker Alexander Kilgore.
